Marching show bands definitions

DIVISION (based on the achievement record) DIVISION 1: bands that have a first prize rating at any recognized international competition, major regional competition or a national Championship may apply for placement in division I based upon their performance credentials. After review of band s performances credentials & application resume, placement in either division I or II will be determined by WAMSB DIVISION II:bands that have a second prize rating at any national or international competition . DIVISION III: bands of any category who are admitted as a participant for festival rating will be placed in Division III  CATEGORY (based on the member aged ) JUNIOR: 95% or more performing members are less than 16 prior the starting date of the competition SENIOR: 95% or more performing members are less than 22 prior the starting date of the competition OPEN: withot limit of age  CLASS (based on band numbers) A: up to maximum of 60 performing members AA: over 60 up to a maximum of 100 perfoming members AAA: over 100 up to a maximum of 150 perfoming members AAAA: over 150 perfoming members  TYPE (based on the membership requirements ) Community School University Fraternal Military Professional – excluded from the competitions  COMPOSITION (based on the band instrumentation) Harmony band Brass and percussion Band Woodwind and percussion Band Percussion Band Fanfare Band Pipe and percussion Band Drum Corps Novelity Band Specialità band
